Our leadership team led by a dedicated group of healthcare professionals and community advocates, our leadership team brings diverse expertise and a shared passion for improving health outcomes. The Board of Directors provides strategic guidance, ensuring our services align with our mission. Our Community Council, comprised of clients, ensures that community voices are heard in our decision-making processes. Supported by our senior staff, comprised of experienced healthcare professionals, we strive to innovate and expand our services to meet the evolving needs of our community.

Board of Directors

  • Laura Mattila (she/her) has over a decade of healthcare leadership experience across Ontario. Her past positions include leadership roles at the Hospital for Sick Children and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, Sault Area Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and she is currently the Senior Director for the Physician Health Program at the Ontario Medical Association. Laura completed her Master of Arts degree from the University of Toronto with a specialization in sociology of health and mental health and has completed professional development through the Rotman School of Management and the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Laura is currently pursuing an MBA from Carleton University. Laura has held volunteer executive board of director positions in the non-profit sector in the areas of mental health and women’s employment and has expertise in board governance, strategic planning, and quality and risk management.

  • Joshua has spent the last decade working in a variety of roles in Canadian politics, government, healthcare and the nonprofit space, focusing on issues management, policy, and media relations. Past roles include being part of the Prime Minister’s Issues Management Team during the 2015 federal election, as well as holding various senior advisory roles in the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and Office of the Premier of Ontario. Prior to his current role as Director of Communications for the United Way Greater Toronto, Joshua was consulting at the United Nations Movement “HeForShe” in New York, creating and implementing international communications strategies designed to engage men in the gender equality conversation.

  • Aaron Berk is a Partner in KPMG’s health practice. He has over 20 years of experience as a clinician, hospital manager and consultant. His experience ranges from Provincial levels through front line of care. Aaron has led provincial projects related to Analytics, wait-time management, peri-operative practice, critical care, and population health initiatives. Aaron has also worked with clients on information management and data analytics projects ranging from IM/IT planning for large academic hospitals and regions.

  • Kunal Patel is Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Development at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and has an MBA from Harvard Business School. In his role at Sunnybrook he focuses on partnerships, business development, and corporate strategy. Before joining Sunnybrook Kunal was in the private sector focused on marketing and sales where he launched multiple products into the Canadian marketplace. He has also spent five years as a management consultant within the health care industry at a boutique advisory firm. Kunal believes health care is a ‘team sport’ and enjoys mentoring and growing others to their full potential. He is married with three children.

  • Mario uniquely combines communications skills, change management experience and political acumen to serve some of Canada’s largest healthcare organizations. He honed his talents working at the most prestigious academic research hospitals in the province, diagnostic laboratories, government ministries, Crown agencies, charities, and associations. He has designed programs to showcase groundbreaking research, launched new drugs for global pharmaceutical companies, and advanced government policies. Mario holds an Executive MBA, Health Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver. He lives in Toronto with his wife and three children, and enjoys playing guitar, cooking large meals for friends, and family, and perfecting his homemade hot sauce.

  • Victoria Marroccoli is Director, Strategic Support, Real Estate Banking – Canadian Business Banking at Scotiabank, with experience in financial services, global operations, management consulting, organizational design, and change management. Victoria holds an honours specialization in political science from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Ryerson University specializing in the management of technology and innovation. Victoria also serves as a board strategist and grant writer for other Toronto-based nonprofit organizations.

  • Rosemarie recently joined The Return on Disability Group as Relationship Manager, Financial Institutions. In this role, she is responsible for developing deep, productive ties with organizations seeking to provide customers and employees with disabilities with experiences grounded in research and informed design. Previously, Rosemarie was chief of staff for The Office of the 4th Reviewer of Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the lead executive accountable for strategy, operations, and delivery of a comprehensive review of Ontario's Accessibility legislation. She is also a member of the Patient & Caregiver Health Council (PCHC) for the North York Toronto Health Partners.

  • Dianetia has diverse health sector experience in Quebec and Ontario in both hospital and community front line work. She is a passionate advocate for the disabled and marginalized populations and previously worked in case management for adults with development disabilities. Dianetia holds a bachelor of nursing degree from the University of Victoria and currently works in Management with Home and Community Care Support Services.

    Dianetia is an active volunteer and currently a board member of a local youth sports organization.

  • Vish brings well over a decade of healthcare experience spanning across India, UK, Middle East and Canada. Vish as part of Deloitte Digital Care Team has been helping healthcare clients on a variety of initiatives including developing Clinical Information System Strategy, streamlining BackOffice operations and developing hospitals for the future. Vish has extensive experience working with policy makers, hospital administrators and providers across the care continuum. Vish is a qualified physiotherapist from India and has the passion to contribute to the society to improve the health and well-being of the population.

  • With over fifteen years of experience, Amy provides tactical and strategic counsel, public relations, grassroots advocacy, and public affairs expertise to clients in the mining, healthcare, emerging products, and financial services sectors. Amy previously served as a Policy Advisor to the Federal Minister of Finance.; During that time, she advised on two budgets with a primary responsibility of corporate tax. She also served as Director of Parliamentary Affairs for the Minister of National Revenue and as Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of National Revenue and the Minister of Western Economic Diversification Amy holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Carlton University in Ottawa. Amy lives in midtown Toronto and is an active volunteer with various organizations.

Leadership Staff

  • Cameron has 18 years of experience in the non-profit healthcare sector. Having worked with non-profits focused on international development, HIV, Parkinson’s disease, and end-of-life rights, he brings exceptional experience in strategy development, communications and client relations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the environmental non-profit Impact Zero.

  • Hyder has 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector, including healthcare. Having worked nationally and internationally, he brings expertise in project and program management, risk management, policy and strategy development, monitoring and evaluation.  Hyder has competencies in client relationship management, as well as stakeholder and government relations.

  • Liberty has worked in Human Relations for ten years, including previous roles in the community health and social service sector. She studied HR at George Brown College and is currently completing a Master of Education degree in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching from the University of Ottawa.

  • Constantine has over thirty years experience in the non-profit sector, including community support and health care. Areas of involvement include program development, volunteer management, client advocacy, fundraising and grant writing, and resource counselling, and client advocacy and support systems navigation.

  • Kiros has over 30 years of Community Health Services experience responsible for the management of site operations and the provision of attendant care services including planning, directing, monitoring and training of Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and the management of service delivery issues.
